THE DESIGN
Wall & Keogh mixes rustic with contemporary and the new with the old, creating an eclectic jumble that makes for a fascinating interior. There are three seating areas: the main cafe upstairs, an outdoor space and a second room downstairs. We love the urban country vibe of each space. Owner Oliver T. Cunningham wanted “to create a cafe that was both comfortable and groovy”.
Our favourite room
The exposed brick wall, painted floorboards and dark walls create a warm, homely environment for sipping a hot brew. The interior was designed by Think Contemporary, www.thinkcontemporary.com
IDEAS TO STEAL
The spartan, vintage cafe-style furniture is spruced up with photograph prints on the tabletops. You can easily recreate this look in your home with a collage of favourite photographs beneath the glass top of a coffee table. Wall & Keogh has perfected the art of effective and creative wall display with a combination of paintings, stag heads, mirrors, framed prints, postcards and portraits. In your home, the only limit is your imagination: mount vintage plates, wooden boxes housing pot plants, frames and children’s artwork.
So right now
The wooden crates used to build the countertops tap into current trends for upycling and industrial materials. Here, what would have been discarded in the past has been cleverly transformed into a counter with rustic charm.

- Isn't 'contemporary' style, stark and cold?
- No, not at all. We think of our style of interior design as 'comfortable contemporary'. We like to make rooms vibrant, beautiful and exciting but we also keep in mind that people actually live in these rooms and thats where the comfortable part comes in.
- Do you do traditional style interiors?
- Absolutely. We give each project our all and make each project as individual as the clients who hire us.
