Sleeping with the Professions!

We have been working on a really exciting project for some months now, a full refurbishment of a 30 bedroom guesthouse. And while the renovation is not fully completed yet, I thought that I would give you a sneak peek of some of the rooms.

The concept that we came up with for the guesthouse is based on old Irish professions, but putting a quirky spin on them. We proposed that the deluxe rooms would take the names of the professions and to date we have completed the Doctors Room, the Barbers Room and the Tailors Room.

Doctors Room

Making a BIG impact, we used a giant red cross on the headboard wall. As the ceilings are so high in this room, the giant cross really works with the proportions. Keeping everything else relatively neutral, we added really cool Baldwins, medical prints.

Barbers Room

Although we didn’t want to be too literal with these rooms, we just had to add the barbers pole to this one.

Tailors Room

So, when we decided to use the tailors room as one of the deluxe rooms, we just had to get a tailors dummy. I mean how often do you see a tailors dummy in a hotel room. 🙂 But we didn’t want to just leave it at that, so we added check wallpaper to reference the tailors fabrics and a quirky measuring tape cushion.

Standard Rooms

Although these rooms are the standard rooms, we still wanted to create a bit of a wow factor. Using vibrant colours and cool accessories, I really think that these are much more than standard.

We are currently working on the Cobblers Room and the Dentist Room, so stay tuned for images. If you would like to see more of our commercial projects you can check them out here.

I really hope that you liked this weeks post, make sure to let us know what you think. Oh and if you are looking for some advise or just a point in the right direction, you can contact me at [email protected] or 087 9683101 and I will do my best to help you.
