Well it’s that time of year again, when we are all thinking about spring cleaning and upgrading our homes. There are many different things that you can do, but a really effect way to change a room is to use wallpaper.
I am a huge fan of wallpaper and I think that it can add warmth and depth to a room, so I have selected some of my favourites to show you….
I love love love Geometric prints and here are some amazing examples. British wallpaper company Cole & Son have designed a Geometric range of wallpapers. Circus (above left) and Apex (below right) are just two of the designs from this collection. These are available from Helen Turkingtons, in Ranelagh Dublin. The Swedish company Ferm Living have also brought out a range of Geometric patterns, we particularly love Remix (above right). You can check it out here. Italian designers Wall & Deco have been creating beautiful wallpaper for many years now and they never disappoint. This beautiful Geometric pattern (below left) is just one such creation.
Rustic Style wallpapers have been slowly making an appearance for the last few years, but very few have done it as well as these two. The Scrapwood wallpaper (above left) is from a Scandinavian designer Piet Hen Eek. It is available from Wallpaper Rock Scissors. The beautiful Brooklyn Tins Wallpaper design by the French design studio Merci was inspired by the old Brookyln Tin tiles used predominantly on ceilings. This is also available from Wallpaper Rock Scissors.
Generally when we think of floral wallpaper we think very traditional. However, there are some fantastic contemporary and quirky floral wallpapers out there and these are just two of them. Hanna Werning (above left) is a gorgeous wallpaper from the Swedish designer. This is available from Wallpaper Rock Scissors. The Alice Wallpaper (above right) is a bit more subtle but equally lovely, also available from Wallpaper Rock Scissors.
Sometimes it can be a bit difficult to get away from pink or blue in our kids rooms, especially if your little ones have there heart set on it. But there are some gorgeous alternatives out there. I think that the Lilleby Wallpaper (above left) would be gorgeous in a nursery for either a boy or girl. It is cute but still a little different. Fayre’s Fair (above right) is another fab option for your kids rooms, I love the teal colour but it is also available in pale purple and mustard. All of these papers are available from Wallpaper Rock Scissors.
Yes I said Outdoor!!! Can you believe it. The amazing Italian company Wall & Deco have designed a range of outdoor wallcoverings which they call out systems. I think that this is such a cool product and while they may not work with more conventional houses, it is such a clever idea. You can check them out here.
So if you are considering a renovation or just a bit of decorating, I hope I’ve inspired you to consider using wallpaper.
